She Met Him Shameful, She Left Him Shouting

Making an impact in your world doesn’t depend on your big degrees or titles.

Who would have thought that this once shameful all-by-herself woman can set her whole city on a transformation exercise? But she did. In just one day. Her encounter went viral.

So what led to that?

Like we pointed out in the previous post, in trying to, maybe, dodge more probing into the room of her life she shut off from public view, she changed the conversation.

“Our Fathers worshipped in this mountain; and ye say that in Jerusalem is the place where men ought to worship.”

You see, this woman was a religious woman. She knew the “thou-shall-not”, but the true heart of worship, she didn’t know.

Worshipping God isn’t just about going to church, lifting up hands, and singing sweet melodies… With tears running down touch checks or your feet and waist “dancing to the Lord.” Jesus revealed to her what true worship is. Something that most “church people” miss today.

The Heart Of Worship

The place of worship is not the primary concern. What God is after is the spiritual attitude of the worshippers. That they worship God in Spirit and in Truth.

Whether you go to the mountain or valley, this denomination or that denomination… It holds no water in heaven. “Are those worshippers worshipping in Spirit and Truth?” That’s the question God asks.

In spirit” points to the level, or depth, at which true worship occurs. True worship must come from the heart. It should reflect Godly character and inner devotion to God. We must approach God and offer ourselves to Him in complete openness and with a spirit that is directed by the Holy Spirit.

True worship must also, be a reflection of and response to the “Truth” of the Father that is revealed in the Son and received through the Spirit. Those who encourage worship that is not based upon the truth and teachings of God’s Word have in reality rejected the only real and legitimate foundation for true worship.

There are no worship without complete openness to God, brokenness, repentance, holiness, reverence for God’s word, adoration, prayers, and giving to God.

With this revealtion of what worship really means, are you a true worshipper of God?

I believe the Samaritan woman asked herself this question at this point.
But maybe, she felt this insight was too deep for her to handle. “The woman said unto Him, I know that Messias cometh, which is called Christ: when He is come, he will tell us all things.
“Jesus saith unto her, I that speak unto thee am He.” (Vs 26)

A Remarkable Moment

This was that moment. A point of realization. Something has happened in her heart. Now she knows the Truth. She’s been talking with the Messiah. And He has transformed her life.

And upon this came his disciples, and marvelled that he talked with the woman: yet no man said, What seekest thou? or, Why talkest thou with her?(Vs 27)

Neither the woman nor Jesus got distracted with their presence.

Priorities changed. Activity swapped. Shame flew.
The woman left her water-pot, and went her way into the city, and saith unto the me, Come, see a man, which told me all things that ever I did: Is not this the Christ?  (vs 28, 29)

You can imagine the passion in her voice and the excitement in her eyes as she shouted this.

“I’ve see the Messiah!”
What thrill.

Who knows… The transformation needed in your family, your city, your school… It might be dependent on you. On your encounter with Jesus.
What are you waiting for. God brought you to the world, to your family, community… Wherever you are, “for such a time as this.”

As Jesus reveals Himself to you, rise up and go spread the news to someone.
If Amy Carmichael, Elizabeth Elliot, Katherine Kulman, Corrie Ten Boom, and a host of other women who ran the race before and those who still pour their lives into God’s work today… To help millions of women experience the love of Jesus. If they kept quiet, what will the world be like today? Who would have know about them? Nobody.

This is your time!

As you go, God will help you have the kind of result this woman had:
Then they went out of the city, and came unto Him… And many of the Samaritans of that city believed on Him for the saying of the woman, which testified, He told me all that ever I did. (30, 39)

And many more believed because of His own word; And said unto the woman, Now we believe, not because of thy saying: does we have heard Him ourselves, and know that this is indeed the Christ, the Saviour of the world. (41, 42)

What a day for that Samaritan woman!

Today can be your day.
This last day in the month of August, you can make it a day of real RADIANT BREAKOUT.

Breaking out of everything that keeps you bound in darkness, and receiving the radiance of Jesus.

Then you step out, as we walk into a new month, to go and live a really Radiant life. And be a Girl on a Radiant Walk.

It’s time.

I want you to take some minutes and do this with me:

Walk into a quiet place (if you can). Close your eyes. Picture yourself at that well. With your empty pot. Thirsty. Imagine Jesus by your side. He’s right there.

Talk with Jesus. Tell Him how thirsty you are – physically, emotionally and spiritually. Remember, there’s no point hiding anything from Him. He already knows. Ask Him to have mercy on you. And give you that gift of Living Water. That spring of water that never runs dry. Imagine Him filling you up. He will if you do this sincerely.

How do you feel? Light. New. Joyful. Right?
You have a spring to always refill you when you feel thirsty. Now, to keep that spring always fresh and flowing, don’t disconnect from the source – Jesus.

Commit yourself to worshipping Him in truth and spirit – always.

Now, rise up… Take your candle, go light your world!
Remain Radiant!
